You can’t figure out everything that’s wrong with a house by only looking at it through a window. There are many things you’ll miss.
You must go inside the house and live in it for a while to see what’s truly wrong.
The same goes for business ideas — specifically looking for problems to solve.
If you have a business idea for community X, you must be a member of community X (or be working with someone who is). It’s extremely difficult to make it as an outsider.
The best authors do this too. They get as close to the problem as possible before they write about it. Malcolm Gladwell is a good example.
